Structured Cabling — The Entry Point to Deeper Engagement

Structured cabling is a more competitive market than fiber, but it serves an important strategic role in IPAS's portfolio: it is the service most commonly required by a new client for the first time. A client who engages IPAS for their structured cabling project is a client who will call us first when they need data centre racking, IT management, or AV integration.

We install structured cabling to the standard it deserves — certified, documented, and built to last — because that is how we earn the next engagement.

What We Install

  • Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A UTP/FTP cabling
  • Telecommunication outlets and face plates
  • Patch panels and distribution frames
  • Cable trays, conduit, and containment systems
  • Telecommunications rooms (TR) and main distribution frames (MDF)
  • PoE and PoE++ capable infrastructure
  • Cable management and labelling
  • Telephony and PABX cabling
  • Coaxial cable systems

Testing & Certification

Every cable run is tested with a certified cable certifier and full test reports are issued at project close. This documentation confirms compliance with the specified cabling standard and provides a permanent record of the installed infrastructure.

Volume & Scale

IPAS has the team and tools to handle both small fit-outs and large, multi-floor office cabling programs. We manage scheduling and phasing to minimise disruption to your facility during installation.

FAQ

Structured Cabling Questions

What structured cabling standards does IPAS work to?

IPAS installations adhere to TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards, with all installations tested and certified to confirm compliance.

Does IPAS install Cat6A cabling?

Yes. IPAS installs Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A depending on requirements. Cat6A is recommended for new installations supporting 10GbE or PoE++ applications.

Does IPAS provide cable testing and certification?

Yes. Every installation is tested and full test reports are provided for each cable run, confirming compliance with the specified standard.

Can IPAS handle both copper and fiber cabling on the same project?

Yes. IPAS installs both structured copper cabling and fiber optic cabling, often on the same project. This is a significant advantage for clients who want a single contractor for the entire cabling scope.
